Poetry & Prose ~~ "Give Thanks"

Think about God’s wonderful gift of love,

Having sent Jesus, His only begotten Son.

Always rejoice with thanksgiving in your heart.

Never give up for He holds you safe in His arms.

Keep your eyes upon Jesus in the midst of the storm.

Stand strong in faith and give praise to our saving Lord.

Grant mercy and grace to others in their time of need.

Inspire others to reach out and be filled with His peace.

Value and treasure His gift of eternal life He freely gives.

Invite others to open their hearts to believe and receive.

Now and forever give God all the glory for all He has done.

Give thanks forevermore for His wonderful gift of love.

Poetry & Prose ~~ "Harvest Blessings"

I traveled along the winding river's edge
as the harvest moon rose on the horizon.
Pumpkins lay scattered throughout the field
just waiting to be sold by the dozen.

Another spring and summer had flown by
allowing me to see many of my desires.
There had been just enough water for the crops
     released from the surrounding reservoirs.

So many people depend upon a merciful,
     bountiful, ongoing harvest.
It's during this season of the year when
we appreciate our farmers the most.

So look to the heavens and offer praise to God
     for His wondrous complete cycles.
Dirt, air, water, oxygen, light, seeds and plants
are just some of His creative miracles.

Dispense knowledge to your children and students
of the One who does impart.
Trace your many blessings to the source
as thanksgiving flows from your heart.

Poetry & Prose ~~ "A Mother's Love"

Mom, your inner beauty flows from deep within
Like the sweet fragrance of a delicate rose,
Gracing our lives with your compassion and love,
As you share your wisdom with all you know.

Your laughter and the twinkle in your eyes,
Always produce a smile upon my face.
Your hugs remind me of the warmth of God’s love,
And the tenderness found in His loving embrace.

You constantly give of yourself in so many ways,
And through the years made many sacrifices for me.
You bring to life the desires residing in my heart,
And believe in me so I can fulfill my destiny.

I appreciate all the wisdom and insights that you have,
And I thank you for the support you have shown.
You taught me many lessons by your example,
By putting everyone else's needs before your own.

Through the storms of life and upon the raging seas,
You spoke words of faith and hope calming all my fears.
Even when the prickly thorns appeared at my side,
The healing touch of your hand wiped away all my tears.

You have faced the challenges that came your way,
With courage and a never give up attitude.
You taught me to be grateful for all the blessings,
Giving praise to the Lord with heartfelt gratitude.

I cannot adequately express the love I have for you,
As simple words of thank you are not nearly enough.
I pray God's blessings and favor be upon you,
Please never doubt you will always have my love.

Poetry & Prose ~~ "Take Time"

Take time during each day
            to pause and reflect,
Give thanks for your blessings
            even if they aren’t perfect.

Take time to tell those you love
how much they mean to you.
There may come a day
when they are no longer in view.

Take time to pen a letter or note
just to say thanks or a mere hello.
You just might be the bright spot
that helps a life to glow.

Take time to perform
            a good deed or two,
Lessen someone else’s burden
so they won’t have to cry boo-hoo.

Take time to watch a sunset
            with its tapestry a flame,
Let it warm your heart and spirit
            and readjust your game.

Take time to plan your work
            and to work your plan,
This will save you hours and weeks
            down the road a span.

Take time to honor those in your life
even if they don’t deserve it now.
You will have shown them a better way
and then you can take a bow.

Take time for yourself above all else
to nurture your life and spirit.
For if you will do this
            then you will greatly benefit.
